The Easton Rockets, making their first berth in the Torre Classic, fielded three teams that competed in the 18u and 16u divisions. 17u Rockets squad started their summer off on the right foot by going undefeated en route to their 3-1 win over 18u PBC Elite in the 18u division championship game. Nick Constantakos was credited with the win after a solid outing and shortstop, Swindley Lint, was rewarded with an honorary Game Day bat after being named tournament MVP for his outstanding performance.

After a 1-0 loss to open their tournament, the 16u Rockets responded by winning their next three games, earning a spot in the championship game against PB Extreme 16u at Roger Dean Stadium. Impressive pitching performances, including winning pitcher Jacob Winger, aided by timely hitting eventually saw the game shortened to 5 innings in the Rockets’ favor. MIF, Brendan Power, took home tournament MVP honors after his solid weekend performance.

The Rockets’ 15u squad, playing up in the 16u division, also had a strong start to their 2015 summer schedule, finishing the tournament 2-1. Bested only by a strong PB Select team, Rockets 15u look to build on their early success throughout the rest of the summer. All three teams will suit up again next weekend for the 2015 Memorial Day Tournament hosted by Team One/Underarmour, taking place yet again at the Roger Dean Baseball Complexes.
