The 2016 Under Armour Memorial Day Classic fielded 63 teams between the 16u and 18u divisions. Both 16u and 17u Rockets had a great showing this weekend as the two teams combined for a 9-1 record.
The 17u FTB Rockets squad finished the weekend 6-0 en route to defending their 2015 title with a 6-3 victory over a solid 17u Elite Squad North Prime team. Jacob Winger was awarded the win in the championship game as he kept a potent opposing line up at bay through 5 innings of work. Zach Chivers came in to shut the door with two innings of relief. James Marinan was awarded the 2016 UA Memorial Day Classic MVP hardware after the completion of the game.
We would like to thank Under Armour for all of their efforts in organizing a successful Memorial Day weekend. Both Rockets squads will lace up again next weekend to compete in the Prospect Select, 2016 Vero Beach Classic!
